Day 5

Once again we got off to a late start and found ourselves not seeing the back of Port Lincoln till about 10:30 or so.

The days riding was good. Finally feeling like we're almost settling into a traveling rhythm.

The country side is still incredibly green although the number of yellow canola fields is becoming much less being replaced with sheep grazing. The natural landscape is changing too, mainly sheoaks now and very rocky.

The riding started with bands of rain showers which we could see coming in the distance. These would wash us for about 5 minutes or and the we'd come back out into the sunshine which would warn us back up again. After we'd cleared the rain we had a stong, icy, cross wind which made the riding both cold and a real challenge. The wind pushing the bike around and some points we'd have to ride leaning over as though we were going around a corner just to go in straight line.

We stopped for a snack in Eliston and then rode on a track that went around the sounding cliff tops. This provided some spectacular views of the coast line.

Later on we took detour and checked out some caves. These were pretty spectacular too.

Just out of Streaky Bay we rode through a swam of bees. I'm very glad I have a full face helmet.

At Streaky Bay we had a late lunch and then decided we camp let night. We were both feeling pretty tired. Following this was serious conversations on the progress we're not making.

Tomorrow we're determined to get away early and travel a good 600 kilometers.
