Trip out to Thunderbikes

Yesterday after getting into town I noticed a little oil around the drive shaft and the sump so I decided to head out to Thunderbikes to get them checked out. And I'm really glad I did, not because of any problems with the bike (everything checked out fine) but because it was such an interesting place.

Mario has a full showroom packed with beautifully restored old Moto Guzzis. All of them with "not for sale" signs attached. It's quite a collection and it was great to see the way the engine design and controls have evolved over time.

Mario was great too, he had a spare indicator lens on hand and also a set of crash bars which I,d decided to purchase after the bike fell over on the Murray. He did a good price on the crash bars and fitted both the lens and the bars on the spot for me.

He only works on Moto Guzzis and obviously knew a whole lot about them and the tidy work shop was full on many different Guzzis in various stages of being worked on. I wasn't able to convince him to move to Melbourne.
